Instructions

Keep the instructions close by, make sure you keep up on your stitch count, and refer to the video as often as neccesary. I watched the video all the way through first, then knit along with it, which was very helpful and instructive.

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Romantic, Cute, Classic, Traditional, Casual

Materials

Cascade Yarns Venezia Worsted in #116 Sunrise

What was your inspiration?

I've always skipped over top down patterns because I thought they would be too difficult. After receiving an email about this class (which was on sale), I figured it was time I tried this, and I figured I had nothing to loose....a class with instructor (available to watch 24/7), and being able to add a new skill, a win, win situation.

What are you most proud of?

It only took me three tries (stitch count IS important), but I did it....YEAH ME!!!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Have patience and fun, and watch the video over and over if you have too. Also, use the "ask question" function. Mercedes is a wonderful and kind teacher, and very patient (I asked a lot of questions). And give yourself a pat on the back when you're done.

Thank you, this is such a great, basic pattern, I'm thinking of doing a different lace motif.

I only want to do top down now! I actually have a chance of having a sweater fit. You might be interested in the Crazy Lace Cardigan class. That is more of the top down. I enjoyed that class too.

Your sweater came out really gorgeous! I love the color. It's a few inches longer than I made mine and I'm thinking about adding a few inches. I'd love to see how it looks on you so I could see the length. Is that possible?

unfortunately, I actually finished this before Christmas, and pre-holiday weight. I can't turn down the desserts! So, when I slip it on, my girth shortens it up. Hence hanging it up, I'll soak it and block longer too. It currently hits mid to high thigh.

I like the longer fit, as well. What yarn did you use? It looks like a nice weight...

Yarn used was the recommended Cascade Venezia Worsted in Sunshine (I liked the name). I got a great deal on ebay.
