I used abalone shells, vintage pearls, and brass chain.
What was your inspiration?
I can't really say I had an inspiration other than my friend pointed out the abalone to me and I couldn't resist. As I was looking at the shells, I thought about including charms. It was far too busy with the charms, though. Then I thought it needed something that looked like a net, which is where the criss-cross chains come in.
What are you most proud of?
I never know if others will like the pieces I make, but when I took this one into my local bead shop, they called people over to look at it. That made me proud.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Be PATIENT! The criss-crossing of the chains was a bit of a pain.... don't let it defeat you!
