What materials did you use? cotton fabric including some hand painted, woolen applique shapes, different threads including mettallic thread.

The light blue is hand painted. I was inspired by the work of Sue Spargo. For the appliqued "stems" I used one of the ugliest fabrics I had; they turned out to work really well. I wove a sparkly thread through the quilting creating the background swirls.

I too, love Sue Spargo's work. She uses Valdani thread -- also my favorite. Your pieces is lovely. Thanks for sharing!
