What was your inspiration?
My daughter is in the military and is now posted in Arizona. She wanted a southwestern style quilt for the wall there. I went in the stash and pulled the colors to go with the border fabric I found. It was a good color exercise and loads of fun!
What are you most proud of?
The thing actually laid flat for quilting! With all the weird strips coming together in the center, I didn't think it would. Yippee!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Pick a focus fabric and then when you pull the other fabrics, don't be afraid to use ones that are the right color, but maybe not the right 'theme'. Little strips don't show the theme, just read as color.
