Quilting: Scrappy Christmas Tree skirt
21 kudoz

Scrappy Christmas Tree skirt

lots of quilting stitches
sentaments all around

Instructions

I made a wedge shaped template from cardboard that would form a half circle by using 3 wedges. I just kept adding scrap strips to the wedges until it looked right, made 2 half circles, adding star appliques to the wedges. Finished it like a quilt, quilting around the appliques and adding star outline quilting motifs all around the white fabric.

What was your inspiration?

Christmas

What are you most proud of?

I added sentiments, embroidered all around the edges. It's bright, colorful & very pretty. And I didn't have to buy any additional fabric, I used what I had left over from other projects.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

There are no rules for this. Just do it. Make it up as you go along.

I like your idea. Love the little starts that you added! It makes the skirt!

Thank you. I think stars are bright & happy. My son wants me to make one with round ornaments instead of the stars & fill some of the ornaments with the logos of his favorate sports teams.
