This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Machine Quilting Negative Space »

Instructions

The pattern is from the course from E. Hartmann. But I used the ideas from Angela Walters course Negative Space for quilting.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Other

Style: Mod

Materials

cotton fabrics and rayon thread for quilting

What was your inspiration?

The pattern is from the course from Elizabeth Hartmann. But the quilting is all from this course. I tried to make a sketch, The theme "street" because of the fabrics was the idea. The bubbles represent flowers, trees and more. The straight quilting represents buildings, houses.

What are you most proud of?

I like the look. And I like the back side like the front side :-)

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Start :-). The ideas with sketching are wonderful.

Wonderful quilt design I'm very impressed - you have great ideas. Since you can do this with a dsm, I'm already thinking about participating in the course of Angela Walters.

Thank you so much!. I have tried it (fmq) sometimes with little samplers. But because of this course I hope I will have the courage to use the free motion quilting more and more. There is another course of Angela Walters where I hope to learn the feathers. I have had never success to produce a design which seems to be a feather ;-)

This is gorgeous! I love the quilting! I have to know, is this done on a long arm or dsm?

Thank you so much for your comments! It is a lot of fun to quilt like this. Angela gave me the ideas and the courage to try it. Your comments motivate me to move on.

Your quilt is soothing to the eye, wonderful fabrics and I like your white binding. Looking at the back brings to my mind 'The road less traveled'.

Love how the quilted road matches the "road" on the backing of the quilt. Nice job
