Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Funky, Casual, Retro / Vintage, Mod

Materials

Fabric, 2 pillow forms

What was your inspiration?

My daughter bought some lovely fabric and asked me to make her some scatter cushions for her living room.

What are you most proud of?

That my daughter is so confident in my sewing skills:) Although she has lots more cushion ideas for me to make her... she has been looking up patterns for patchwork cushions!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

One you start something you may have to keep on going haha! These were very easy to do as I made envelope back openings.

Thanks Karen... I have already parted with them but I get to see them when I visit Lou, who has more ideas for me to make other cushions. I am way behind on my BOM's will have to get back to them.

You are completely updating everything! Is there anything you can't cover in adorable fabrics? You are going to have to hang onto some of these Wow creations yourself- these pillows are my favorites of all you've posted so far.

Thanks Pam for your lovely comments. I am making cushion covers for my two daughters, some black based ones for myself and then I really want to make some for my mum for Christmas... so I'll be a busy girl:)

Oooh! Aren't they lovely? Not sure if you appliqued the little birdies, or whether they were part of the fabric - go on, let me into your secret!

haha Pat Im afraid they were part of the pattern, but Lou wants me to make her an owl cushion so I will be doing it with a paper pieced pattern... well will try my best to:)

Well - the fabric made really lovely, cheerful cushions anyway! It should be quite easy to make an applique similar to the fabric or you could cut out a bird or two if you have enough left.
