What was your inspiration?

I found this pattern in one of my magazine, (can't remember which) and decided it would be a perfect way to use up some of my reds and greens. It could be a holiday quilt, but then again it could be for any occasion.

What are you most proud of?

I love having an opportunity to learn something new. Each quilt i've made has taught me something new. This one was the first time I'd tried to make a fancier border and use a bias binding. I think I should have made my scallops a bit more shallow. That will be a future project.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't be afraid to try new things. Quilts are adventures. If they don't turn out the way you'd like, gift them to someone you're not so fond of, or someone who doesn't say thank you.

I love the starkly contrasting colors on this one. The design truly pops out at one.
