I finally finished the mittens it take a lot of efforts and I think they are still not perfect. Could you please explain how to saw the thumb gusset my not look like nice.

They look nice!! I think you need to pull the M1 a little tighter to even out the gusset. Also, when you are picking up the strand for the M1, always use the same color - then knit the stitch in the color called for on the chart. As you wear them, the gusset will even out. They look very good!
