What was your inspiration?
There's nothing like a white cotton sleeveless blouse for summer! It's cool, it's good-looking and after learning the ropes on View 1, it's practically a-piece-of-cake.
Why did it take me so long to finish? That's just it--on the first project a person feels driven to complete the project and show it off. Aside from a trip to visit our granddaughter, a burnt-out sewing machine light and difficulty in finding the right oil to lubricate the machine there was nothing holding me up--ha! ha! I was able to salute my former sewing teacher at last weekend's 40th high school reunion and to thank her for all the skills she taught us. She was not what I'd call a simpatica persona in my high school career. But she taught us a life skill.
I'm thankful to Christine Haynes for being more fun and for adding some cool designer features to the Sassy Librarian Blouse.
What are you most proud of?
I decided to use some hand-stitching to soften the look on this version--hand stitching the arm bands and using the invisible stitch to hem the bottom.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Pay close attention to the helpful hints Christine is always adding. Her experience shows. She's like a good friend, advising and guiding.
