Sassy Librarian #2

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Sassy Librarian Blouse »

Instructions

Iron crinkle cotton a lot before using, or learn how to sew with crinkle cotton before actually starting a project with it.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Retro / Vintage

Materials

Some kind of crinkle cotton

What was your inspiration?

I was trying to get a better fit with my FBA while sewing on a fabric that is new to me.

What are you most proud of?

Well....not much but I stuck with it and tried something new and that is something of which to be proud.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't be afraid to take risks and fail. I've learned a ton about fit and fabric by making this blouse. It probably won't be in heavy wearing rotation and will probably get replaced by the spring but it does look good under a sweater.

Very pretty blouse. Love it with the cardigan too. When you wash it, maybe you can hang it up to dry, straighten everything by hand and only iron gently so the crinkles stay in and it will be a smaller size for you. Nice job!

I am jealous. It does look adorable with the pink sweater. Thank you for the good advice about the fabric. I also like to wear the crinkle gauze. I will start with a plain cotton for my first try.

Good for you trying a new fabric! The print is beautiful and it looks great with the sweater.

Every time I ironed a seam, the shirt kept getting bigger and bigger as more of the crinkles were ironed out. It's now pretty huge. Oh well.
