Quilting: Sara's nook cover
25 kudoz

Sara's nook cover

Instructions

I made this reversible and put a loop on one side (the one that I thought would be outside more frequently). It is just two coordinating fabrics quilted together. I put a flap on it with loops, and sewed buttons to both the inside and the outside to close it. It is made just large enough to hold the e-reader, so it could be adapted to any of them.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Unisex

Style: Whimsical, Cute

Materials

Novelty cottons, thin batting

What was your inspiration?

My daughter was looking for a cover for her nook, and didn't want to spend any of "her" money on it, so I asked if she'd like me to make one with some fabric I had in my stash. She had fun going through fabrics and selecting the ones she wanted me to use. I was happy because I didn't have to buy anything for this particular project!

What are you most proud of?

I made the pattern up as I went along and it worked!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Be sure to measure carefully, and if you are uncertain about your ability to do it correctly the first time, use fabrics you don't care about!
