I found this pattern in the Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting Magazine Nov/Dec 2009 edition Page 76 - I slightly altered the pattern by using a black fabric marker instead of buttons for the eyes and adding plastic star buttons instead of the metal star buttons. Heat n Bond Lite, red, white, green, tan, Candy Cane print & tartan plaid fabrics, jingle bells, star buttons, fabric marker (eyes), polyester fiberfill stuffing, piping, thread, sewing supplies & tools.
What was your inspiration?
When I saw this in the magazine - I knew I had to make it ! I had this magazine awhile - and just got around to making Christmas items - as I was much too busy previously...but it is perfect for this time of year and glad I held onto it.
What are you most proud of?
The nose - it was the hardest part of the whole project!
I really like the way the whole thing turned out.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Get organized - read what all you will need - and just be careful transferring the pieces for the Santa - it can get a little disorienting - from right side to wrong side and mirror image for the heat n bond (fusible web).
