Thank you for your response. It really helped me determine the size. I hope my sweater turns out half as pretty as yours. :)

I should have mentioned that I did not get that extra 11/2 inch till after I blocked. Can't wait to see yours.

Did you find the sweater knitted up true to size or did you knit a larger size? I, too, have fitting issues when I knit. I am waiting for my yarn to arrive in the mail. I want a looser fit, so was wondering if I need to size up one or two sizes. Would love your input. Thanks.

In this case I found that you can really trust the chart that Ragga included with the pattern. I knit the size 36" and she shows this with a finished measurement of 37 1/2" on her chart and that's exactly what I got. Most patterns don't give you both the bust measurement and the finished one so that you have to guess at the ease that you want.

Thanks, I will add a picture soon. The fit turned out well for a change. I usually end up making everything too small.

The neutral colors are beautiful. It will go with whatever you wear. The buttons are really pretty too. I love that they're not all the same. Beautiful work !

Of course I stole the mismatched button idea from Ragga, but as an avid sewer I had a huge button box to choose from.

For some reason I was obsessed about the ribbon and took a long time choosing. I couldn't find any like the ones on the video. This one came from the local high-end sewing store and was insanely expensive at $15 a yard.

What colors did you use?

So i used the only colours that were available at my LYS as I was too impatient to wait for an internet order. The tan is called acorn and of course the main colour is just the undyed wool. I cheated with the light grey (it's Cascade 220) as the onlu other colour available was black.. I have fallen in love with Lopi and will now order some from the internet.
