Sampler blocks

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Free Motion Quilting a Sampler »

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Boys

Style: Funky, Cute

Materials

I used poly cotton sheeting...it was only supposed to be practice blocks!

What was your inspiration?

I wanted to practice some of the blocks from various classes before I made my proper quilt. Then I wanted to practice free motion quilting, so I used the blocks! I just couldn't throw them away so I put them all together.

What are you most proud of?

The free motion quilting......blood sweat and tears!!!! But glad I kept going..... I can see all the mistakes and how much I improved with each block

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Go for it, enjoy it.......and when your free motion quilting.........don't forget to breathe!!!

Before anybody comments ......top right hand corner block, no it's not a swastika!! I was doing the fence rail block on quilting quickly and 4 blocks make that shape! But when you put more together in a row it makes the Greek key ! Who was to know!! Just felt I needed to explain incase it offended someone. :0)
