What materials did you use? Essex Linen by Robert Kaufman, 4-ply DMC mouliné, embroidery needle, 19-cm embroidery hoop.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? If you trace with a water-soluble marker, draw the pattern as is rather than a mirror image. Also use a ruler, I didn't have access to one when tracing. THE STITCHES: 1. and 2. RUNNING stitch, straight and on a curve. 3. and 4. BACK stitch (practiced two different stitch lengths in 3.). 5. THREADED stitch, on a base of running stitch. 6. WHIP stitch, on a base of running stitch. 7. and 8. SPLIT stitch. 9. and 10. STEM stitch. 11. FERN stitch.
