This is done in colored pencil on muslin, then densely stitched to shade the fur, eyes and grass.

thank You. Will have to try fabric paint would love to do my dogs and cat but think that's a long way down the line. hope to get something nearly half as good as yours after a lot more practice. wish id found quilting and fabric art 40yrs ago.

Thanks for all the sweet compliments... you need to give it a try, it's really doable with a little trial and error. It's not as difficult as you might imagine. Don't be intimidated. Maybe start small, like do a portion of your pet's face like his eye, and take it from there. Try it!

I find working with colored pencils gives you much more control than paints... give it a try. It's not as difficult as you might think!
