Just the first block. Not very happy with my points :( Much more difficult than I thought getting things to lay flat and square up. Was wanting to do a larger version of Forest Glen for my mother in law for Christmas....now she will be lucky to get a pillow :)

I think your block looks pretty good - sorry you've had some problems. It looks like you might not be getting the full quarter-inch seam on the sides, where the points got cut off (either that or the setting pieces had seams that were more than 1/4"). If the seam when you sew the wedges together is the problem, I often find that some machines have a problem sewing over the bulk where all those seams come together. You might try pressing those areas as flat as possible before sewing the seams, and pehaps even sewing some basting stitches right at those areas first. Then you can sew the seam in either direction. My machine does o.k. starting at the pointy end, but if you machine doesn't like all that bulk, it will sometimes push the points over to the side, causing the seam to be a bit too narrow. That also makes the block have a problem laying flat, because there is less taken up in the seams. If you decide to try more blocks and the same problem occurs, hopefully these tips will help.
