Safari Sleeping Bag

Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Children

Style: Funky, Cute

Materials

Cotton and knit fabrics, bias tape, zip, press studs, tons of patience.

What was your inspiration?

My Little Monkey is my inspiration :) This sleeping bag was her Christmas present. I just loved the safari print, so believe it or not, I paid full price for this fabric! My LM seems to enjoy the Spot the Animal game we play using her sleeping bag - we point at the animals, make silly noises and hilarious movements :)

What are you most proud of?

How I managed to make the front look like there is no zip at all :) This is also my first attempt at making something with lining.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I am so new to this I can't really give any advice worth listening to. I know next time I make LM anything using knits I will be more careful to not stretch it while transferring a pattern onto a fabric or cutting it. Oh well, she doesn't know the arm holes were not supposed to be this big hahaha Shhh don't tell her ;)

I did the same thing with armholes LOL! Works out well for summer though, because they still feel secure in their bag but some ventilation is freely available to stop overheating.

hahaha I am glad to know I am not the only one :) I also find that getting her arms out is easier this way, too :)
