I started with a pre-printed panel I bought years ago; and Quilt Basting Spray by Tailor - first time I ever used it and it was wonderful! No pins! Offray red ribbon, cotton batting, buttons for stars and watermelon seeds, Tulip Glitter Paint for some of the stars, and Tulip Glow-in-the-Dark Paint for the windows on the house panels.
What was your inspiration?
I'm a spouse of a Military retiree, and I support our Military men and women. I made this particular wall quilt in honor of my Marine son's wife for her birthday. They are stationed in another state and I wanted to make her birthday extra special while he is in yet another school.
What are you most proud of?
My quilting without pins! I've always dreaded the actual quilting itself, but with Tailor's Quilting Spray, I actually had fun this time! I am now moving on to all those unfinished quilts that I've packed and moved over the past 22 years! I am officially retired and can't wait to start on the next few quilts, which I usually give as gifts year round.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Definitely try Tailor's Quilt Basting Spray - it's magic in a can! And have fun with it!
