What materials did you use? The focal bead is a copper wrapped geode. Assorted semiprecious stones, seed beads and copper findings finish the piece.

What are you most proud of? This was my first soldering project from a few months ago. The ring is copper wire loops soldered together with a few blobs I accidentally made while making balled end headpins. The geode was wrapped in copper then soldered at the seam and at the wire used as a bail.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Keep your first soldering project simple. The not-so-perfectly soldered elements compliment the natural style of the necklace.

Very beautiful. I really enjoy your use of colors together. Purple and copper have always been favorites. May I ask, did you make all the charms too?

Thank you. Most of the charms are beads with drilled holes. I just used a headpin to attach them. For the geode center stone, I formed a thin piece of copper into a ring and soldered at the seam and then soldered a piece of wire to the top. The copper was annealed and soft enough to mold around the stone with a wooden craft stick. As I burnished it, the copper became harder around the stone -- it is now a very solid setting..

This is beautiful. I've said it before -- you are an artist and jewelry is quite clearly your medium for expression.

Great mixture of colors and textures in the beading here.

I am a self-taught mixed-media artist, and am just starting to get a bit into jewelry...I have no intentions of getting into soldering, but WOW, this is stunning!!! What a beautiful piece of art! I hope you kept it and did not sell it! Thanks for sharing!!
