What was your inspiration?
My sister mentioned a Christmas card she had seen with Russian nesting dolls on. Then I recently purchased a notebook for my design drawings and the front was decorated with Russian dolls.
What are you most proud of?
The versatility of the design. It is simple and effective.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
If hand stitching I would recommend the applique be done in stages - it is detailed in the pattern. This will minimise sewing through multiple layers. Aside from that - like all Patchsmith patterns - they are created for you to have fun with fabric whilst creating lovely little home items or gifts for friends. So enjoy.
