Ruler Table Runner - By the Inch

Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Cute, Traditional, Casual

Materials

White Cotton/Poly Fabric for the runner, and a lining of Black and White Geometric Cotton Print. Black Embroider Machine Thread.

What was your inspiration?

I was inspired by Country Living Magazine, June 2012 issue, a DIY project how to make a table runner from drop cloth fabric, stencils, a permanent black marker, and fabric paint.

What are you most proud of?

Instead of black paint and drop cloth, I used my general purpose sewing machine and embroidery machine.

My version is 63" long by 13 "wide on soft white cotton/poly fabric. Stitching all the ruler marks and following up with machine embroidering black numeral 1 through 7.

The runner (back) is lined with a contemporary black and white geometric cotton print. Its handsome, superbly made, and ready for your table.

Be sure to look at the matching Wine Tote No. 7 I made from the same soft white cotton/poly fabirc.

Happy entertaining!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This is a long project. Take your time. Measure, measure, measure.

Your runner is very nice. I plan on making this also. I purchased the stencil for the numbers and some canvas. I may reconsider the canvas after seeing the "soft" look of your runner.
