Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Jewelry

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Romantic, Casual, Whimsical, Cute, Classic, Traditional

Materials

Black, gold, and brown seed beads. Gold wire, crimp tubes and clasp. Colored upholstery thread, needle.

What was your inspiration?

Inspired by Donna and the beading book she mailed me.

Seed bead choker, threaded beads hanging from wire. One needle, one thread completed this project. Then I went over the whole thing with a second thread, because I am like that!! Has a wonderful ruffle effect when worn.

What are you most proud of?

The unexpected ruffle effect. Figuring out how to take a pillow fringe pattern and make it into a necklace.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Try not to put your needle through the thread!

I started by stringing the black beads on gold wire, then used needle and thread to attach a picot pattern, and then made up the rest as I went along. I don't have the necklace anymore to give you exact bead counts.

I got the instructions for the first row of beads from the book "Beading" by Diana Vernon. It is a pillow trim pattern.

As I wa saying before hitting the wrong button......... It is a pillow trim pattern that I strung from a beaded wire and then made up the pattern for the next two rows.
