What size are those tiers? They look tall.

This is a 6-8-10 round cake. All of the tiers are 6 inches tall.

Is this exact technique (how to ruche a cake with fondant) taught in the class entitled "Cake Design Made Simple: The Wedding Dress"?

Thanks very much! I did purchase the class and this design will be one of the choices for my daughter's wedding cake. Let's hope I will be able to accomplish it. She just loves this soft draping almost looks like chiffon. Thank you for offering this class.

Hi Rachael, is the cake covered in fondant or modelling chocolate? Can I use modelling chocolate to cover the whole cake and would the ruching be obvious with modelling chocolate

Hi The cake is covered in fondant with the addition of MC for the folds. It's quite difficult to cover a cake in MC using the traditional method. I think they would blend using either medium.

Hi Rachel, love your class! So for you to make the folds on this cake do you mix fondant and modeling chocolate together? thank you so much!

I personally only use modeling chocolate for these, but you can mix MC and fondant if you choose.
