This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Stupendous Stitching: Adventures in Surface Design »

Difficulty:

Category: Embroidery

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Women

Style: Whimsical

What was your inspiration?

I just purchased a new Bernina 830 and wanted to experiment with different stitches and threads. I saw Carol Ann Wagh on the Quilt show and thought this project would be a perfect test for my machine... and it was.

So glad I found this class on Craftsy.

I used 12 different brands of sewing thread... 6 of them were metallics. Gave me a great perspective on what my machine would do!

What are you most proud of?

I love, love, love my background fabric. The whole project is fabulous but I need to make another one so I can perfect the skills needed for this project...

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

start small, watch the videos a couple of times before starting and enjoy!

I love everything about this piece and those machine stitches are making me want to upgrade my own machine to an 830!
