Materials

Buttons, Embroidery thread, cotton materials, flannel for the back, batting, sewing supplies & tools. Sewed with machine & partly by hand.

What was your inspiration?

I was looking through a quilting book and came across this pattern. I decided I had to make it right away, and so, I did. I used a very low-loft batting, so it is pretty thin and lightweight.

What are you most proud of?

How well it came together...and so bright and bold.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't be afraid to try hand sewing along with machine quilting.

The circles look very difficult? Are they? I haven't been quilting long; would love to do something like that or even appliques; a little tenitive!

No, not really- you just lay the circle on top of the other pieces - once it's pieced and ready to quilt - then just iron the "hem" - turn in about 1/4" and then (hand) sew it in place - you can do it by machine - if it's easier - but I like the look of the hnad sewn edges...gives it a more "rustic-primitive-look"...

I bought it some years back - but I know Barnes & Noble can get book outof print if it is...check their website...or google it and see if anyone has it on line perhaps...good luck
