What was your inspiration?

This cake inspiration came from "SugarPot". I used the leaves Jacqueline Butler taught how to make on her Craftsy class, just a lighter / brighter green.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

If you can make the roses (or any other flower for that matter), this is a pretty easy cake to make. Just takes a long time to place the rose petals on the bottom tier - one at a time.

Petals were easy!! Just use petal cutters, place petal on foam pad (not too soft), gently use ball roller on edge to desired ruffle effect. I let my dry a minute or so (not completely) before dabbing a bit of water on one edge and adhering to cake. Size of petal cutter you use depends on how tall your layer is and how many rows you want. I just held a couple of sizes up to the cake and played around with it a bit.
