What are you most proud of? Top quilting. This is my first major quilting project. As I am unable to do free motion quilting yet. I used a variety of simple design concepts to add to the overall design of the quilt. I will add additional pictures of the quilting once the quilt is completed.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Learn to do free motion quilting as quickly as possible even before you learn how to make a quilt!!!!!!! I plan to learn free motion quilting in 2012, by taking a number of classes on offer at my local fabric store.

Beautiful quilt! I too am working on my frr motion quilting. I learned a couple of days ago there is an attachment for my sewing machine that will control the stitch length when I am doing CRT motion quilting. I have also found and watched on YouTube some excellent Beginner Free Motion Quilting videos.

Thanks you very much this quilt is my favorite so far. I am planning to concentrate on FMQ in the new year. I will be visiting Leah Day@daystyle.com she has wonderful FMQ designs and what is more important they are free. I will be starting there first for my learning. Julieannabell.

I saw your later pictures of this quilt before I saw this one. I hadn't realised the size of the three-dimensional flowers - I think they are absolutely wonderful! I really must steal that idea for a project of my own!
