I am so Sorry, it was mainly Sharon Pederson's Rose of Sharon book for applique patterns, there are a couple from different sources as I didn't discover her book until I was already into this project. This is my first large project of applique and hand quilting. How do you eat an elephant??? One bite at a time. I appliqued a block at a time, spent a week making log cabins. Stressed about how they would fit together when finished, tackled those nasty Y seams and it worked. I was very surprised. Then I stressed about how to quilt it. I didn't want to take it to a LA as I have never used one and was worried that they would ruin it and it would cost me money to have it ruined. I played with two extra blocks. One I fmq's the other hand quilted. I decided that the hand quilting was the look I was going for. I quilted each block individually. I re-watched the segment on quilt as you go and made a scrappy quilt with the technique. Then I felt confident to put it together. I am totally amazed that it all worked out.
