Hi Teresa...I started with #7 needles & at times used #6, depending on the lace pattern. For the waistline ribbing, I used #4.

What size needles did you use with the Sugar and Cream yarn? I have a ton of that thread here.

Just beautiful - I love it! You are very skilled and creative. Maybe, with plenty of practice, I'll get there someday. Thanks for sharing the swatch photos!

So cute! I know a lot about "too small waist and too big over the chest". Someone will be very happy with her new romantic top/cardi!

I love this Rose Cardi, but I accidentally made it too large in the chest by continuing my front edge increases (done every 4th row) too far down, increasing the width. I wanted a peplum effect, so thot this would be fine with the smaller ribbed waist, then flaring out a bit with the Feather & Fan at the bottom. It would look better on someone with a larger chest & smaller waistline, so I'm waiting to find the right person to give it to. The yarn is so inexpensive (Sugar & Cream kitchen cotton) that it's not worth frogging, so meanwhile it's a big swatch that I can refer to, ha ha.

daisydoo...Hi, thanks. The button band is crocheted & from the class materials for Ingerlise. The lace pattern on the bottom of the pink swatch is one I made up: Row 1--k 2 tog, yo, k 1, yo, ssk. Row 2--purl. Super easy! I call it Mini Feather & Fan.

Wandalee, Love what you did especcially the button band and the cap sleeve. I plan to do one with cap sleeves too. Please tell me, in the photo of the orange and pink swatch, I love the lace on the bottom of the pink swatch. Is this from our class materials or from another source? If from another source would you share the pattern with me.

I keep trying to post here, we'll see if this one goes. I started a seed stitch border a few rows before the joining, then used Magic Loop to do 1 more seed stitch row & the bind off. On my next 2 cardies, I bound off the sleeves on a right side row, then did the joining on the next (wrong side) row. This is faster, easier, & gives a slightly shorter sleeve. Do the joining area sts tightly.

I love that you used "humble" dishcloth cotton. Perfect! And your swatches will look lovely doubling as dishcloths, Clever girl.

Thanks! But I can't part with my swatches--they will be part of my knitting library. And ha ha, I'm addicted to the little sponges with scrubber backs for dishes.
