What was your inspiration?
I had been designing various bargello patterns prior to this. In normal bargello, each strip set is usually offset by a full or a half-step from the previous strip set and the curves are created by varying the width of the strips sets. So I decided to try creating a design by keeping the strip width the same (except where I change directions) and creating the curve by changing the amount of offset instead. I used a flexible ruler on graph paper to come up with one repeat of the curve I desired.
What are you most proud of?
I like the design I came up with and intend to repeat it in different colors.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
A flexible ruler can be a terrific design tool!
