This is a PERFECT example of why keeping records is so important! A customer saw my Craftsy pillows in the shop and asked if I would make her fabric just the same to cover the seat of her rocking chair.
Her chair seat is 23x23, but the fabric needs an additional 2-3" allowance on all sides to wrap around and be attached to the chair. To figure out how big to make it, I whipped out my project records from the course pillows and saw that my take up was 15.6% and draw in was 16.1%. I plugged those numbers into the Warp & Weft Calculation sheet and knew right away how long and wide to make my warp.
I ran the width numbers twice: first for the full 28" wide finished width so I'd know how many ends I need total, and then again for the 23" width for the sear top so I knew how many of those ends will actually show. The second number is the one I used to plan my stripe widths, and then I added half the difference to each of the outside stripes for the allowance. This is a PERFECT example of why keeping records is so important!
