Category: Knitting

Type of item: Clothing

Style: Casual, Funky

Materials

Beaverslide Dry Goods Fisherman Weight yarn, it's lovely to knit with! But you can knit this pattern of mine in just about anything you like!

What was your inspiration?

Using cables for shaping...

What are you most proud of?

That this sweater looks great on ALL body types, especially plus-size.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This is excellent TV knitting -- most of the sweater is relatively plain -- but you can spice it up with extra cables if you like. Check out some of the mods Ravelry users have done!

This looks like just what I want to knit for my next project. Being Australian I am used to wool being measured in ply. Can you tell me what ply this is done in?

I really like this sweater. I'm actually a fairly new knitter, I've only done a few small projects. Scarfs, hats and socks. I've been looking for a sweater I like and this really suites me especially being a plus size. I've done cables so they don't really intimidate me. Would you recommend this sweater for a 1st time large project?

There are photos of the front and of other knitters' versions (one switched up the front by putting in another cable, it looks great) on its Ravelry page, which is linked above.
