I think you did great! I used to crochet but haven't even tried (can't remember how!) in almost 20 years. Once I learned, I burned myself out. I crocheted 5 40x60 blankets for all nieces & my son. Most were the same pattern you used, just different colors for each kid. My son was only 3 or 4 so I made his w/ all primary colors so he would learn. The best thing about making all those blankets is the kids (who are now in late 20's & 30's & have kids of their own) STILL have those blankets!!! I still have the one I made myself (albeit in the closet) & the one I for my mom is still on the end of her bed! You should be sooo proud!!
