This ring of roses will look lovely all year long in a window or as a wall hanging. If the lead crystal drop is added it will create rainbows on the wall if hung from a southern window. You will need Boye Steel Crochet hook size 1 (2.25mm)and size 10 crochet cotton, a background color, a large rose color, small rose color and a leaf color. 8 Hoop Ring for dream catchers Optional items: Lead Crystal drop 24 gauge beading wire 2 head pins 2 red heart-shaped beads (or choice of bead color and shapes)

What was your inspiration?

I love Roses and are always so sorry to see them die. I also love rainbows. I have suncatchers all through my south windows so I can have rainbows all winter long on my inside walls. I decides to combine these two loves.

What are you most proud of?

I love the 3 dimensional effect of the roses. I almost expect them to smell wonderful. hmmm...I may have to look for some wonderful rose scent to spray on them.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I would encourage anyone who can crochet to try thread. It is really easier than yarn and I use a larger hook size (size 1 Boyle hook or size B Aluminium hook) to encourage others to try it.

My mom had a napkin holder done like this. Both sides had the Irish crochet roses in varigated pinks, the spring-green leaves and the pure white background to fill the circle. The circls laced onto the napkin holder with ribbon. I used to love watching her starch and stretch the circles before lacing them onto the napkin holder. Thanks for the memory!

What a gorgeous idea! I have never crocheted with thread before, but your project has inspired me --- along with your encouragement. I can't wait to try it. Thank you so very much for sharing it, Lois. Bless you, Linny

Thank you, Linny. I find thread easier to hide ends and the hook never picks up part of the thread.
