Quilting: Ring Around the Roses
19 kudoz

Ring Around the Roses

After cutting - see the original 9-patch
Beading - pink in blue, clear in pink
Only had enough of pink for binding.

Instructions

I made this using a June Tailor Twist 'n Stitch ruler. I used 5 inch squares to make a 9 patch with borders, then cut my pieces with the 3 1/2 inch size lines. I added beads to the outside ring of flowers, thinking that leaving the center flat I would be able to use this as a table cover and put a vase or candle on it.

Fabric, beads, thread

What was your inspiration?

This was made for a Project Quilting Challenge. The challenge was to make a quilt inspired by a song. I had to go simple, so chose Ring around the Rosies and used a new ruler for the cutting! I thought the fabric was perfect for the theme!

What are you most proud of?

I added some beading! I love beading, but never seem to know exactly how to add it to enhance my quilt. This one came out really great and I love it!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Sometimes you are better off keeping your idea simple and just executing it well. Don't be afraid to try something new, you might like it!

Love the beading & the stiching!!! What happened to the red print? It looks complicated!

The red square in the cutting photograph was just a trick of the light, it's the same pink as the rest!
