What was your inspiration?
I have fun figuring out reversible designs and decided to make a scarf using this technique. I enjoyed playing around with a symmetrial design vs. one that migrates across the scarf from one color to the other.
What are you most proud of?
I like the way the colors compliment each other to create a subtle zigzag design.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
This is not as complicated as it looks! The reversible design is achieved by alternating rows of gold and cream, using a combination of sc and long hdc which are worked into the previous row. The long hdc are worked with gold on odd rows and cream on even rows creating the reversible effect. A length of yarn is left at each end on all the rows for the fringe. A design chart is also included with the pattern.
The finished sizes are:
Small: 4" wide x 47" long
Large: 5-1/2" wide x 47" long
This pattern is available for $3.00 and is written in U.S. terms.
