Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Bag-Making Basics: Reversible Tote & Zipper Pouch »

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Functional

For: Women

Style: Eco-Friendly, Cute, Casual

Materials

Drapery fabric, interfacing, cotton broadcloth, wool fabric, leftover fabrics from Diana Rupp's class.

What was your inspiration?

The first bags that I made with the videos turned out beautifully. I decided to use the leftover upholstery material from my couch to make more. There was a sale on curtain fabric that was sturdy and I kept trying out matching fabrics from the sale bin and my own stash.

What are you most proud of?

The bags are practical and beautiful. They can be sturdy or easy to fold.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Watch the videos and follow the direction. Excellent instructions and good sewing tips. Thank you to Craftsy for this free course!

Thank you! It is a great way to use up leftover fabric, particularly heavier fabric like the leftovers of upholstery material to make a really sturdy bag.

You have been busy. The bags would be good for carrying shoes, while you wear boots to get where you are going. They have so many uses, eh? Your bags are very nice and looks like you enjoy making them. Good for you!!
