Instructions

I cut two pieces for fabric and one batting 9x10 inches.
I sandwiched them together and stitched columns as I felt looked appropriate.
I cut 2.25 inch strips for binding but in future will use 2.5 inch strips as they make better mitered corners.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Holiday

Materials

2 pieces from my stash. One was designed specifically for Joann's. The other I received from a friend.

What was your inspiration?

I needed a small project after the table topper and all the Christmas items so decided to make something for a friend whose color was mauve and something springy. Since we were going to her house for breakfast Tuesday morning, I decided to whip up some mug rugs for her.
I had both fabrics in my stash. So decided the garden fabric could be one side and Valentine hearts for the other.
Therefore, she'd have the next holiday covered then can flip over to spring garden after the holiday.
I decided to make four so it could be her and her hubby along with another couple friends.

What are you most proud of?

Just how all the fabrics fell together for this project.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Use 2.5 inch strips to make binding instead of 2.25 as it makes much nicer mitered corners.

Sorry for the blurry photo. I will need to be more aware of this when taking photos in the future. Glad others are inspired.
