What was your inspiration?

I have had this pattern since the early 80's. I was out one day and saw a lady wearing one. She told me that she loved it and that she has not seen anyone wearing one and she hung on to hers all these years! I love knitting retro and vintage patterns!

What are you most proud of?

I enjoyed doing this project and it shows well in this photo .

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

It is really easy to make and looks good. You will notice that I did not use Asta yarn for this project, I have more than 22 points and my buttons are slightly different to the way the pattern describes ...... that is my unique touch .... feel free to play around with it to produce your own signature (so to speak). Because this pattern is worked side to side I just kept knitting until it was a good length and I measured it on my mother for fit. Check your tension and have fun working it!

Thank you Gillie! I started it tonight in a soft taupe yarn. Can't wait to see it finished. This pattern could be a real stash buster for me! Thanks again.
