What was your inspiration?
Our DIY outdoor wedding. We wanted an old fashioned wedding centered around our favorite 2 songs: Fly Me to the Moon and As Time Goes By. I did not want a veil (a little too mature for that look) and wanted as much as possible for all accessories and decorations to be made by myself or my family and friends. We succeeded right down to the jewelry I am wearing!
What are you most proud of?
The hat turned out so well that I had considered making another. I haven't worked out what color I'd like just yet.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Practice making flowers w/the silk first (as you sew on the Bernina machine). The only other practice you may need will be working with the millinery wire. It can be a bit tricky if you have not worked at making hats before. Shape the wire and the petals to your head as you work. It will turn out much better that way!
