Retro Apron

Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Traditional, Retro / Vintage, Cute

Materials

Blue gingham, off-white plain blend

What was your inspiration?

I needed an apron out of necessity, but kept putting it off because I didn't know what I wanted. I saw some pictures online of ruffled, retro aprons and thought they were adorable. So when my mom gave me this blue gingham I knew what I was going to do with it.

What are you most proud of?

The topstitching along the edges gives it a clean, finished look. It came out just as I'd pictured it in my head.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Aprons are easy because you don't need a pattern to fit exactly. Just hold the fabric up to your body to see what the general size and shape is that you want, and go at it!

This is awesome! I'm about to do 3 apron orders here myself and I really like the style of this one. You did d a great job on it! It's very retro and flirty too. Time to update my own stash I think. Thanks for the inspiration. :0)

Very cute! I love that it has enough coverage to protect your clothes and looks pretty.
