What was your inspiration?
A quilt that my 52-year old DD made when she was 20. Her quilt was left at Lake Michigan in Chicago never to be seen again. Her, then, 19-year old son took it to use while watching the fireworks and left without it. So sad.
What are you most proud of?
I am please to be able to replace my DD quilt. I FMQ this quilt it some places and then will tie it also. I want it to remain soft and fluffy. I used poly down batting. The 2nd photo is the back. The 3rd photo is of my DD tying her quilt in 1980. She made up this pattern. I did the navy blocks wrong but didn't notice it until it was done. So I left them.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
This is an easy quilt to make. I do have a schematic of it that was done by a QuiltingBoard member on her QE.
