Too-short jeans, black satin ribbon and quilting cotton
What was your inspiration?
I bought this sparkly black damask cotton months ago and wanted to use it for something I wasn't going to give away - I love it THAT much (photos don't do it justice). When these jeans got too short for my 2yo daughter, I decided to make a blouse with the black fabric and embellish the jeans with black trim to match.
What are you most proud of?
Figuring out what to make with this fabric.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
The crotch of the jeans pucker and move when they're ripped open and have to be folded over. you can see where I didn't sew quite high enough on the back and a bit of the original seam is visible. But the wearer is 2, she's not a couture model. I'm not too worried about it. :)
