I got this pattern on page 34 of book named "24-Hour Quilts". The link takes you to an amazon site to purchase the book. I altered the pattern to suit holiday themes. I made two different quilts if you'll notice...one has redbirds and the other has snowflakes.

What was your inspiration?

My sisters were my inspiration for these two quilts. I had not made quilts in many years due to disability and I was determined to at least get a machine quilted throw done for each of their families.

What are you most proud of?

Although they were not bedsized quilts, I was proud I was able to get the quilts finished. It made me feel good that I was still able to get it done even if it took me significantly longer than it did a few years ago. My sisters seem to really cherish them, too.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Be careful in matching up the points. It's disappointing when you put all this hard work into a quilt and then your points don't match up. Measure accurately, cut accurately...very important!

It was as if she'd been a model all her life...she hadn't shown herself for hours, then she just walked up and stood there while my sister took the picture...it was funny, not a prop!
