Red Rockstars Soccer Banner

Instructions

This isn't something I could create a pattern for. I just made came up with a concept and then made the individual parts, then put them together.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Functional

For: Children

Style: Cute, Whimsical

Materials

Satin, Felt, Sparkly fabrics, lots of sequins

What was your inspiration?

This was a soccer banner for my daughter's team. They came up with the name, and then I fit the banner to represent the name. I am inspired to make the banners as sparkly as possible. The girls love it, and the banner sparkles even over on the other side of the field.

What are you most proud of?

My guitar. I traced a real guitar and made a template for it, and then I added as much sparkle as possible. I also think that the microphone and cord make a big contribution to the project. The league my kids played in stopped having banner contests because my banners always won.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't be afraid to try new things. It is really quite simple to do the shapes. I traced a pattern for the stars onto stich and tear, and then put felt under the sparkly material and the stich and tear on top, and then sewed over the lines. You can do just about any shape that way.
