Make It

This project was made from an independent Craftsy designer's pattern:
Red Heart Coaster Easy Tutorial »

Instructions

The long stitches were a UK triple treble. Wool wrapped around the needle three times.

Difficulty:

Category: Crocheting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Women

Style: Whimsical

Materials

DK wool and 3mm crochet hook.

What was your inspiration?

I am looking for ideas to decorate the venue for my daughter's wedding. Thought these would be good for the tables.

What are you most proud of?

I thought this might be too difficult as I have only crocheted squares for blankets and a few simple hats. I am pleased I gave them a go.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Give them a go it's easier than it looks. They are quick I made two in an evening and that was going slowly because of wanting to check on the Internet to make sure I was doing the right stitch. I used the photos in the instructions a lot, they are good. You can see from the photos that to make the long stitch it is a U.K triple treble, the wool is wrapped around the hook three times not a double treble as stated in the instructions.

Well done! I, too, have only crocheted in squares and circles because I haven't ever been able to keep a straight edge. However, I may well give this a go as you say it's easy. They certainly turned out very well - so pretty for a wedding - what a good idea! They'd look very sweet in pink or blue on a crocheted baby blanket (a square one perhaps?!!) too.

Thank you. I hope you do have a go and post your results. I am in the process of making 70 of them, I wish I taught my daughter to crochet . I have until August should get them done.
