What was your inspiration?
A friend gave me some variegated red yarn as a gift and I envisioned these coasters right off the bat. To make them super-absorbent, I made them double-thick (that is, each coaster is two squares joined together by the edging).
What are you most proud of?
The solid picot edging is a nice frame for the variegated center.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
I like it when the yarn "speaks" to me....that's my funny way of saying you can use your imagination to design something just by looking at and fondling the yarn.
