What materials did you use? Recycled old ratty T-shirts

What are you most proud of? I recently taught two groups of children, around 40 in all to make a simple rag rug out of old t-shirts, it was a very successful project.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Start collecting and have quite a few t-shirts ready because once you start it comes together quickly.

This project is a very useful for bonding with your children or grandchildren. For me I was a great-grandchild and learned so many things that were and had been lost in time. Whether it turns out good or bad, you've bonded with that special person, laugh about it and enjoy that time together. This brings the true enjoyment in your heart and mind long after the other isn't around anymore.

It has honestly produced wonderful memories and friendships, friend bring their bags with them so we can cut, stitch together, many hours spent with my 8 yr old, laughing and creating together

Hi and Lori, instructions on this project have been posted in earlier comments, but it is quite easy to do. Cut t-shirts into strips, in a spiral starting at the bottom (see photo at top) once you have cut a few t-shirts, braid and then lay on a flat surface to stitch, I have lead groups of children through this project, it is easy and addictive, have fun
